Cold temps return to the area to start the week with a chance for snow by Wednesday night for southern sections.
This winter season is proving to be one of the most dangerous stretches of cold seen in years.
The Baltimore region will stay well below normal, but the temperatures will feel noticeably milder
Temps will dip into the single digits tonight but will reach the 40s by Sunday.

The big weather stories over the next couple of days will be strong winds and the threat of severe weather from Wednesday into Thursday. The rest of this afternoon should be fairly nice, with a mix of clouds and sunshine as thick, high clouds move into the region. Otherwise, it should be a pleasant day. High temperatures will top out near 60 degrees.
Clouds will increase Tuesday night, with temperatures only falling into the upper 40s to near 50 degrees. Rain chances will creep into the area by Wednesday morning, but the best chance for showers will come between midmorning and the late afternoon and evening hours as a storm system and an associated cold front approach. Winds will be gusty out of the south and southwest throughout the afternoon, with some gusts over 30 mph possible.

Warmer temperatures on Tuesday in Maryland
After a chilly Saturday night and Sunday across the region, temperatures rebounded Monday afternoon into the mid-to-upper 40s. Another cold night is expected Monday night, with temperatures dipping into the upper 20s to near 30 degrees for overnight lows.
Expect sunshine and chilly weather today. Rain, wind, and possible severe storms arrive Wednesday. High pressure in control of our weather means a quiet and chilly Monday. Early morning clouds will continue to thin out and we'll see more in the way of sunshine as the day plays out. Look for high temperatures in the lower to middle 40s. Winds won't be nearly as strong as Sunday out of the west-northwest at 5 to 10 mph.
